Journal Description:

The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning, also known as J-HyTEL, is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal (e-ISSN 2985-9166; DOI prefix: 10.58536) dedicated to advancing research and innovation at the nexus of educational technology, media technology, and computer science applications.

Published triannually (February, June, and October), J-HyTEL explores critical areas including Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL), hypermedia, and the evolving role of emerging technologies in pedagogy, vocational training, and cross-cultural education. The journal also investigates applied computer science, covering software development, computational methodologies, and advanced IT solutions.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), J-HyTEL bridges the gap between theory and practice by publishing research that addresses modern challenges in education and technology. The journal fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and welcomes diverse contributions, including: (1) Theoretical and conceptual studies; (2) Empirical research; (3) Practical applications and case studies; and (4) Systematic reviews. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process by at least two independent referees.

J-HyTEL is published in strategic collaboration with the Digital Society Lab (University of Belgrade), PVKTII (Perkumpulan Pendidikan Vokasi dan Kejuruan Teknologi Informasi Indonesia), and the APTIKOM (Association of Informatics and Computer Colleges) to promote innovation and excellence in hypermedia, educational technology, and computer science applications.

As an international platform, the journal empowers researchers, educators, and professionals across the social sciences, engineering, and computer sciences. We are deeply committed to inclusivity, actively supporting early-career researchers, first-time authors, and contributors from under-represented regions to foster equitable knowledge dissemination.

Important Announcement:

  • J-HyTEL is a fully open-access journal, ensuring research is freely accessible to readers worldwide.
  • While articles published between 2023 and 2024 were accepted in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, starting with Vol. 3 No. 1 (2025), all articles must be written in English to ensure global reach and impact.
