Becoming a reviewer for the Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL) is a significant responsibility and offers valuable opportunities to contribute to the academic community. Reviewers play a critical role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and validity of the submitted manuscripts, directly supporting the journal's academic excellence.

Reviewer Qualifications

To qualify as a reviewer for J-HyTEL, applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent research degree in a relevant field.
  • Be an active, independent researcher in areas related to the journal’s scope (e.g., educational technologies, computer science applications, or related disciplines).
  • Support the journal’s vision and uphold its academic standards.
  • Be willing to uphold high editorial standards, ensuring impartiality and a commitment to ethical practices throughout the review process.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to review requests: Accept or decline invitations within 1 week of receiving them.
  • Completing reviews: Provide feedback within 2-3 weeks. Notify the editorial team of any anticipated delays.
  • Objectivity and Impartiality: Reviews should be based on academic merit, with impartial and fair evaluations. Reviews must be free from bias, and any conflicts of interest should be disclosed.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscript content should be kept confidential at all times. Reviewers should not use any part of the manuscript for personal gain or share its content without explicit permission.

Conflict of Interest

Potential reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest before accepting or declining a review request to maintain fairness, transparency, and integrity in the review process.

Conflicts of interest may include, but are not limited to:

  • Personal, professional, or financial interests that could influence the review process.
  • Close relationships with the authors that could affect impartial judgment.

Reviewers should notify the Editor-in-Chief if a potential conflict arises during the review process. Transparency about conflicts ensures the integrity of the review process and upholds ethical standards.

Applying to Become a Reviewer

To apply, please contact the Editor-in-Chief, including the following details:

  • Username (if already registered)
  • Highest Relevant Qualification (degree and field of study)
  • Current Position (title, affiliation, organization)
  • Scopus ID (link to Scopus profile, if available)

Additionally, please attach your CV and any other relevant information (e.g., website links, publications) that demonstrate your expertise in the journal’s scope. The Editor-in-Chief may request further details or verification of qualifications if necessary.
