Multiple Submission and Prior Publication

March 27, 2025

Dear Authors,

Only original work that has not been previously published or is under review elsewhere may be submitted. The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL), published by Sagamedia Teknologi Nusantara, does not allow manuscripts under review in another journal or conference proceeding to be simultaneously submitted elsewhere.

Simultaneous submissions can lead to copyright issues, resource waste, and citation confusion. Multiple publications dilute value for members and libraries and cause indexing problems. Therefore, simultaneous submissions must be avoided.

Authors who fail to disclose prior submissions or improperly cite previous work may face disciplinary actions, including:

  1. A reminder of unethical scholarly practice
  2. A requirement to apologize to the editors, and/or
  3. A one-year suspension from publication in J-HyTEL.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best Regards,
International Editorial Board

Ethical Policy on Generative AI

December 15, 2024

Dear Authors & Reviewers,

Starting from 2025, on Vol. 3 No. 1, the use or non-use of AI tools must be stated in the article.

The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL) is dedicated to upholding transparency and maintaining the highest ethical standards in the publication process. In line with this commitment, we have introduced a policy regarding the use of Generative AI (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies in scientific writing.

This policy ensures that all manuscripts submitted to J-HyTEL meet rigorous academic integrity standards while also acknowledging the potential of AI tools to enhance research and writing. We strongly encourage authors to review and familiarize themselves with this policy, which can be found in the Publication Ethics section.

For reviewers are not permitted to use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies to evaluate manuscripts or draft reviews. All assessments and feedback must reflect the reviewer’s own expertise and judgment, ensuring the integrity and originality of the peer review process.

Best Regards,
International Editorial Board
