New Feature: Online First Articles

Announcement of a New Feature: Online-First Articles

We are pleased to introduce our “Online-First Articles” feature, also referred to as “Articles in Press.” This initiative allows authors to make their accepted manuscripts—those that have successfully passed peer review but have not yet been assigned to a specific volume or issue—available at an earlier stage. By providing early online access, your research can reach readers sooner, boosting its visibility and accelerating its potential impact in your field.

Benefits of the Online-First Articles Feature:

  • Faster Access: Readers can access your article as soon as it is deemed ready for publication, without waiting for an official issue release.
  • Immediate Citations: Although not yet placed in a final volume or issue, each online-first article is assigned an active DOI, ensuring it can be cited immediately.
  • Enhanced Impact: Early availability can increase the visibility of your research, providing more opportunities for citations and discussions.

Similar Terms for Online-First Articles:
This feature is also known as:

  • Articles in Press
  • Early Access Articles

How Does It Work?

  • Unchanged Peer-Review Process: Authors submit manuscripts as usual, following our rigorous and transparent peer-review procedures.
  • Post-Acceptance Availability: Once accepted, your article is uploaded online in its online-first (or in-press) form, complete with a DOI, basic metadata, and a near-final layout.
  • Volume & Issue Assignment: When a specific volume and issue are determined, your article will be updated with full publication details. The DOI remains unchanged, ensuring stable and consistent referencing.

What Authors Should Do:

  • Review Metadata: Please review your article’s metadata once it’s in the online-first stage to confirm the accuracy of author names, affiliations, and titles.
  • Share Your DOI: Feel free to share the DOI of your online-first article with colleagues, peers, and research communities.
  • Contact Editorial Team: For minor corrections or questions, please contact our editorial team promptly.

This Online-First Articles feature aims to enhance the convenience, speed, and impact of publishing for our authors while offering readers quicker access to cutting-edge research. We are committed to supporting the dissemination of knowledge efficiently and effectively.

Thank you for your continued trust in our journal. We look forward to your future contributions!

Sincerely,
The Editorial Team
