Publisher Legal Name Updated

Effective 29 February 2024, the journal publisher updated its registered legal name from PT. Semesta Arus Teknologi to Sagamedia Teknologi Nusantara . This was a change in the legal name of the same publishing entity and did not constitute a transfer of the journal to a different publisher or the establishment of a new journal.

The journal title, electronic ISSN 2985-9166, DOI records, publication archive, editorial governance, and scholarly record remained continuous. Historical documents, published records, and third-party metadata created before the effective date may retain the publisher's former legal name.

Collaboration with PVKTII

The journal established a collaboration with the Perkumpulan Pendidikan Vokasi dan Kejuruan Teknologi Informasi Indonesia (PVKTII) .

Transition to CC BY 4.0 Announced

The journal announced a change from CC BY-SA 4.0 to CC BY 4.0, applying from Volume 3, Number 1 (2025) onward while preserving the original licences of articles published during 2023–2024.

The journal was officially included in ROAD, the Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources associated with the ISSN network.

Phased Editorial and Digital Quality Improvement Programme Initiated

During 2025, J-HyTEL began a phased programme to strengthen editorial operations, author guidance, metadata quality, publication ethics, peer-review controls, publishing transparency, digital preservation, governance disclosures, and the journal's information architecture.

The programme combined policy review, workflow assessment, technical development, documentation, and gradual implementation. It established the operational foundation for the public policies, interface improvements, author-facing readiness support, and editor-facing integrity controls introduced and consolidated during 2026.

This milestone records the beginning of a continuing improvement programme. It does not imply that every later safeguard was already fully deployed in 2025 or that articles published before a specific control was implemented were retrospectively certified by that control.

Volume 4 Publication Cycle Began

J-HyTEL opened Volume 4 while maintaining its regular three-issue annual schedule in February, June, and October. This milestone reinforced publication continuity, timetable discipline, and the journal's commitment to predictable scholarly communication.

Journal Interface and Navigation Modernisation Publicly Rolled Out

Building on the phased improvement programme initiated during 2025, J-HyTEL began the public rollout of a modernised digital interface and information architecture. Improvements were introduced across the homepage, issue presentation, article listings, archive, editorial pages, and policy navigation to strengthen responsive access, readability, visual consistency, and the journal's Perpetua-based editorial identity.

Complete-Issue Release and Optional Online First Policy Publicly Formalised

As part of the continuing improvement programme, J-HyTEL publicly formalised a publication model that combines a regular three-issue annual schedule with complete-issue release and an optional Online First pathway. Regular issues are released publicly only after their planned scholarly content has completed peer review, final editorial acceptance, copyediting, author proofing, production, licensing, metadata verification, DOI preparation, and final publication checks.

Eligible final articles may, at the editors' discretion, be published Online First before assignment to a regular issue. An Online First article is a final, published, and citable scholarly record. When the article is subsequently assigned to a complete issue, its DOI, original first-publication date, and article record are retained while final volume, issue, pagination, or article-identifier information is added.

If a scheduled issue is delayed, it remains unpublished until it is ready and is released using its actual publication date. Issue assignment does not constitute a second publication, and bibliographic updates must not silently alter the article's research findings, interpretation, authorship, or substantive scholarly content.

Preservation and Continuity Controls Publicly Documented and Strengthened

The journal publicly documented and further strengthened its long-term preservation arrangements through the PKP Preservation Network. Preservation is claimed only for holdings verifiably reported as deposited and preserved through the external ISSN Keepers record and the issue-level PKP PN status. The framework is complemented by operational backups, recovery procedures, continuity planning, and structured volume-level exports.

Publisher Governance and Editorial Independence Framework Publicly Expanded

J-HyTEL expanded its public governance disclosures to identify the publisher's current and former legal names, legal continuity, registration and business information, responsible officers, platform stewardship, journal-management responsibilities, scientific governance, and the separation between publisher support and independent editorial decision-making.

The strengthened framework demonstrates the journal's commitment to accurate institutional history, accountable management, transparent ownership, operational continuity, and protection of editorial autonomy.

Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy Published and Implemented

The journal implemented a dedicated Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy for authors, reviewers, editors, and journal staff. The policy establishes human accountability, mandatory disclosure, source verification, confidentiality safeguards, transparent reporting of research-method use, restrictions on generated evidence, and proportionate handling of non-compliance.

This development reflects J-HyTEL's commitment to adopting emerging technologies responsibly while protecting authorship integrity, evidential reliability, peer-review confidentiality, and editorial accountability.

Preprint & Prior Dissemination Policy Publicly Formalised

J-HyTEL formalised a dedicated policy permitting responsible preprint posting and other forms of prior dissemination. The framework requires transparent disclosure, version identification, assessment of textual overlap and prior availability, and linkage between earlier versions and the final Version of Record.

The policy strengthens openness while protecting originality assessment, citation transparency, record integrity, and the distinction between preliminary dissemination and formal journal publication.

Integrated Editorial Quality and Research-Integrity Framework Publicly Consolidated

J-HyTEL publicly consolidated the coordinated strengthening work undertaken across its publication-ethics hub, authorship and contributorship requirements, complaints and appeals procedure, research-misconduct handling, peer-review policy, reviewer guidance, plagiarism assessment, submission workflow, declarations, and submission checklist.

Dedicated subject-specific policies were aligned and cross-linked with their operational pages, creating a more coherent framework for editorial implementation, accountability, consistency, and continuous quality improvement.

J-HyTEL Officially Received Rank 4 (SINTA 4) National Accreditation

The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (E-ISSN 2985-9166) was officially announced as newly accredited at Rank 4 (SINTA 4).

The accreditation was established under the Decree of the Director General of Science and Technology No. 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026, dated 24 July 2026 . The official results were subsequently communicated through Notification Letter No. 862/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026, dated 28 July 2026 .

The official appendix records Sagamedia Teknologi Nusantara as the publisher and establishes accreditation coverage from Volume 2, Number 1 (2024) through Volume 6, Number 2 (2028) .

This recognition marks an important milestone in the journal's continuing development and reflects sustained work to strengthen editorial quality, peer-review practice, publication ethics, metadata completeness, governance transparency, accessibility, digital preservation, and responsible open-access publishing.

J-HyTEL extends its sincere appreciation to ARJUNA, the accreditation assessors, the responsible national authorities, and the wider scholarly community whose evaluation, guidance, and support contribute to strengthening accountable scientific publishing in Indonesia. Accreditation certificates and journal-record updates on the SINTA platform are issued progressively following the official announcement. Once the certificate becomes officially available through the journal applicant's ARJUNA account, it will be displayed on the journal's National Accreditation page.

Submission and Editorial Integrity Tools Entered Prospective Operational Use

Following the official Rank 4 (SINTA 4) accreditation announcement on 28 July 2026, J-HyTEL moved into the next phase of its continuing quality-development programme by placing a public Submission Readiness Checker and an editor-facing Journal Integrity Advisor into prospective operational use.

The Submission Readiness Checker helps authors review manuscript preparation, required declarations, metadata completeness, file readiness, and alignment with the journal's published submission requirements before formal submission. The Journal Integrity Advisor supports editors through structured prompts and risk indicators within the editorial dashboard while preserving independent editorial judgement and human responsibility for every decision.

The public operational date records when the tools entered active prospective use after accreditation. Their planning and development formed part of the journal's earlier phased improvement programme. The tools apply to new and ongoing editorial workflows from implementation onward and do not constitute retrospective certification, automated approval, or re-evaluation of previously published articles.

This post-accreditation development demonstrates J-HyTEL's commitment to converting formal recognition into continued practical improvement in consistency, transparency, research integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing.

XML Full-Text Versions Introduced as a Post-Accreditation Quality Enhancement

Following the official Rank 4 (SINTA 4) accreditation announcement on 28 July 2026, J-HyTEL introduced structured XML full-text versions for newly published articles as part of its next phase of digital and editorial quality enhancement.

The XML format complements the established PDF version by providing readers and scholarly systems with an additional accessible, structured, and machine-readable presentation of the article record. The workflow supports clearer document structure, improved digital navigation, richer metadata presentation, and stronger compatibility with scholarly discovery, preservation, and future content-processing services.

XML is provided as an additional publication format and does not replace the official PDF or alter the article's Version of Record. The milestone applies prospectively to newly published articles as they complete production and does not imply that every article in the historical archive has been retrospectively converted.

This development reflects J-HyTEL's commitment to using its accreditation milestone as a foundation for measurable and continuing improvement in publication quality, accessibility, metadata, and digital maturity.

Unified Official Documents Portal and Verifiable Certificate Services Introduced

J-HyTEL introduced a unified Official Documents Portal to provide a central, self-service route for retrieving and verifying official documents issued through the journal's publication and scholarly-service workflows. The portal supports eligible records including Letters of Acceptance (LoA) , invoices, payment receipts, and certificates issued to eligible authors, reviewers, and editorial members.

Documents can be checked through the official document number, verification code, or QR code printed on the issued PDF. Each verification request is matched against the journal's official registry, allowing authors, institutions, funding bodies, employers, and other authorised parties to confirm whether a document was formally issued and remains registered by J-HyTEL.

The unified verification service also helps identify altered, incomplete, revoked, expired, or unregistered copies without relying solely on manual email confirmation. Verification results are presented through a consistent public interface while access to document files and sensitive information remains governed by the relevant user role, issuance status, and journal record.

Author and publication certificates are linked to eligible published article records. Reviewer and editorial certificates are linked to validated scholarly service recorded by the journal. A certificate or document becomes valid only after it has been formally issued and registered. Portal availability does not independently establish manuscript acceptance, payment completion, publication, reviewer performance, or editorial service.

Searchable Frequently Asked Questions and Help Centre Launched

J-HyTEL launched a responsive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Help Centre to make essential journal procedures easier to understand for authors, reviewers, editors, and readers. The page brings together practical guidance on manuscript preparation, OJS submission, double-blind peer review, editorial decisions, publication charges and waivers, production, Online First publication, technical support, and official document services.

A dedicated Official Documents section explains how eligible users can access and verify LoAs, invoices, receipts, and certificates, including certificates issued to authors, reviewers, and editorial members. Search, topic filters, and expandable answers help users locate guidance quickly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

The FAQ is a user-support summary rather than a replacement for the journal's complete policies. Where wording differs, the relevant official policy, editorial decision, publication record, or verified document record takes precedence.

Volume Bundle Manager Introduced for Structured Volume-Level Export

J-HyTEL introduced a dedicated Volume Bundle Manager designed to support the preparation, validation, packaging, and controlled export of published journal volumes. The system allows authorised journal administrators to assemble issue-level publication resources into structured downloadable bundles while preserving the identity, integrity, and citation status of each individual article. A bundle is treated as complete only after its included files and manifest have been successfully generated and verified.

A volume bundle may include the official cover, front matter, preface, editorial information, table of contents, article PDFs, abstracts, and other approved issue resources. The manager provides flexible controls for selecting a complete volume, individual issues, or approved publication components before generating the final bundle.

Before a bundle is made available, the system supports administrative checks for missing files, incomplete issue components, unavailable article PDFs, invalid document references, duplicated resources, and other packaging problems that could affect the completeness or reliability of the archival package.

The manager records bundle-generation progress and provides status information for successfully included resources, skipped components, and files requiring administrative attention. Packages that fail generation or verification are not treated as complete archival exports. Large-volume packages may be organised into manageable downloadable parts where server, connection, browser, or storage limitations apply.

Successfully generated and verified volume bundles support institutional deposit, offline custody, library collection management, complete-issue distribution, internal records, migration, audit, and recovery preparation. They are operational exports and do not replace independent long-term preservation through PKP PN or the journal's complete database and files-directory backups.

Volume bundles are supplementary access and preservation packages. They do not replace individual article landing pages, alter article DOIs, create a new Version of Record, or change the publication date, licence, pagination, authorship, metadata, or scholarly content of any included article. The official article record and its registered publication files remain the authoritative sources for article-level citation and verification.
