Serving as a reviewer for the Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning is a scholarly responsibility and an opportunity to strengthen research in technology-enhanced learning, educational technology, hypermedia and multimedia learning, digital interaction, and computer science applications.

Reviewer Qualifications

Relevant Scholarly Expertise
Normally hold a PhD or equivalent research degree, or demonstrate an established record of independent scholarly or specialised professional expertise relevant to the journal’s aims and scope.
Active Research Profile
Be actively engaged in independent research, publication, or scholarly practice related to educational technology and technology-enhanced learning; media technology, hypermedia, multimedia, or digital interaction; human-centred computer science applications and information systems; or a closely relevant methodology.
Alignment with the Journal
Support the journal's vision and demonstrate expertise relevant to the manuscript topics commonly submitted to J-HyTEL.
Ethical Commitment
Be willing to uphold impartiality, confidentiality, professional respect, and high editorial standards throughout the review process.
Core Responsibilities
Reviewers must provide independent, timely, confidential, and evidence-based assessments. Accepting a review invitation means accepting responsibility for both the quality and timeliness of the report.
Expected Review Timeline
Reviewers should notify the editorial team as early as possible when an accepted deadline cannot be met.
Accept or decline the assignment promptly.
Submit a complete, constructive, and evidence-based report.
Request an extension or allow a replacement reviewer to be appointed.
Conflict of Interest
Potential reviewers must disclose any relationship or interest that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, their judgement. A reviewer who cannot provide an impartial evaluation should decline or withdraw from the assignment.
Personal Relationships
Close personal relationships, disputes, or circumstances that could affect professional judgement.
Professional Relationships
Recent collaboration, supervision, employment, institutional links, or direct academic competition.
Financial Interests
Financial relationships, commercial interests, or other material benefits connected to the manuscript or its outcome.
