Advertising Policy
The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning does not accept third-party advertising, advertorials, sponsored editorial content, native advertising, product placement, paid endorsements, affiliate promotions, or other paid commercial placements. This advertising-free model protects the journal's scholarly integrity, reader trust, and editorial independence.
An Advertising-Free Scholarly Environment
J-HyTEL maintains an advertising-free publication environment. The journal does not sell advertising space or permit commercial promotional material on article pages, issue pages, policy pages, submission interfaces, emails, or other official journal communications. Legitimate journal notices—such as calls for papers, publication updates, author-service information, policy links, and new-issue notifications—are governed separately by the Direct Marketing & Communication Policy and are not commercial advertising.
How the Policy Protects Editorial Integrity
The absence of advertising maintains a clear separation between scholarly publishing and commercial promotion.
No Third-Party Advertising
The journal does not display third-party advertisements, advertorials, sponsored product content, paid endorsements, product placement, native advertising, affiliate promotions, or unrelated commercial material on its website or in official communications.
Independent Editorial Authority
Manuscript screening, reviewer selection, peer review, revision requirements, acceptance, rejection, publication scheduling, correction, and retraction remain under the authority of authorised, non-conflicted editors.
No Commercial Targeting
The journal does not use advertising networks, behavioural advertising, retargeting, paid recommendation systems, or commercial profiling based on article content, reader interests, browsing history, location, or other user behaviour.
Scholarly Evaluation
Published material is evaluated according to the journal's aims and scope, originality, scholarly contribution, methodological quality, ethical compliance, presentation, and independent peer-review evidence.
Advertising Does Not Enter Editorial Activity
Because commercial advertising is not accepted, no advertiser, brand, marketing agency, vendor, commercial organisation, donor, sponsor, or promotional partner may influence manuscript screening, reviewer nomination or appointment, peer-review reports, editorial priorities, publication scheduling, or publication outcomes.
Factual Journal Information Is Not Advertising
Necessary scholarly, operational, and transparency information may appear on the journal website without becoming commercial promotion.
Journal Communications
Calls for papers, issue announcements, publication updates, author guidance, reviewer invitations, deadlines, and service information are journal communications governed by the Direct Marketing Policy.
Publisher Identification
The publisher's name, logo, legal information, contact details, and links may be displayed to establish ownership, accountability, governance, and operational responsibility.
Indexing & Preservation Information
Factual indexing, accreditation, DOI, licensing, archiving, preservation, and infrastructure information may be displayed when accurate, current, and not presented as a paid endorsement.
Research Funding Disclosures
Author funding acknowledgements, grant identifiers, institutional affiliations, competing-interest disclosures, and research-support statements are scholarly disclosures, not advertisements.
Scholarly and Ethical Criteria Remain the Basis of Publication
All manuscripts are assessed according to the journal's published aims and scope, originality requirements, scholarly contribution, methodological soundness, ethical standards, presentation quality, and independent peer-review evidence. Author funding, institutional support, publisher support, or other disclosed financial relationships must remain separate from editorial evaluation and publication decisions.
Any Future Change Must Be Disclosed First
If J-HyTEL considers accepting advertising in the future, this policy will be revised and published before any advertisement is accepted or displayed. The revised policy must identify permitted and prohibited advertising, the person or body responsible for approval, placement and labelling requirements, targeting practices, data-use implications, conflict safeguards, and the complete separation of advertising from editorial decisions. No change will apply retrospectively or without public notice.
