Submission & Peer Review

Free

J-HyTEL does not charge authors a submission fee or a separate peer-review fee. Manuscripts are evaluated independently of the authors' ability to pay.

02 After Acceptance

Article Processing Charge

IDR 300,000

The APC is charged at a fixed rate for each accepted article and becomes payable only after a formal acceptance decision and issuance of the journal's official invoice.

No other mandatory publication charges apply. J-HyTEL does not currently charge submission fees, separate peer-review fees, page charges, colour charges, supplementary-material charges, expedited-review charges, article-withdrawal charges, or fees for publishing corrections, expressions of concern, or retraction notices. Any bank-remittance fees, currency-conversion charges, or legally applicable taxes, where relevant, are borne by the payer.

Editorial Independence

Fees Do Not Influence Editorial Decisions

Manuscripts are evaluated solely on scholarly quality, methodological rigour, ethical compliance, relevance to the journal's scope, and contribution to the field. An author's ability to pay, payment status, or eligibility for a waiver does not influence editorial screening, peer review, revision requirements, acceptance, rejection, or any other academic decision.

01
Scientific Merit Editorial decisions are based on scholarly quality, relevance, methodological soundness, and contribution.
02
Independent Review Peer review and academic decision-making remain administratively separate from payment processing.
03
Editorial Integrity Payment of an APC does not guarantee acceptance, favourable review, or accelerated editorial treatment.
04
Transparent Charges Applicable charges and waiver conditions are disclosed publicly before publication.

Financial Support

APC Waiver Procedure

Authors who are unable to meet the APC may request a full or partial waiver. Requests are assessed individually and confidentially. Priority is given to manuscripts whose corresponding author is affiliated with an institution in a World Bank-designated low-income country , as well as to authors who can demonstrate significant financial hardship.

01
Request

Submit a Waiver Request

A waiver request should be submitted through the journal's official contact channel at initial submission or as soon as the financial need becomes known, and no later than formal acceptance. Authors are encouraged to request financial support as early as practicable.

02
Information

Provide Relevant Information

Applicants should briefly explain the circumstances supporting the request. Where necessary, the journal may request reasonable supporting information or documentation to assess eligibility or financial hardship.

03
Assessment

Confidential Case-by-Case Review

Each request is assessed confidentially and separately from the manuscript's academic evaluation. Waiver information is not disclosed to peer reviewers and does not form part of the scientific assessment of the manuscript.

04
Decision

Waiver Decision

The applicant will be informed of the outcome after the journal has completed its assessment of the waiver request. Approval of a waiver does not influence the editorial decision or guarantee publication.
