Open Access Policy
The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning is a fully open-access journal that provides immediate, free, and unrestricted access to all published content in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of open access. The journal supports the widest possible exchange, dissemination, and lawful reuse of scholarly knowledge.
License coverage: The current CC BY 4.0 license applies to articles published from Volume 3, Number 1 (2025) onward. Articles published from Volume 1, Number 1 (2023) through Volume 2, Number 3 (2024) remain licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. The license applicable to an individual article is stated on its article page and in the published full text.
Free to Read, Share & Reuse
Readers may access and download all published articles without subscription or registration barriers. Copying, redistribution, adaptation, translation, and commercial reuse are permitted only in accordance with the Creative Commons license stated on the relevant article page. Articles published from 2025 onward are licensed under CC BY 4.0, while articles published in 2023–2024 remain subject to CC BY-SA 4.0.
Authors Retain Copyright
Authors retain ownership of copyright in their articles. Articles published from Volume 3, Number 1 (2025) onward may be reused under CC BY 4.0. Earlier articles remain subject to the license stated on their respective article pages. Upon acceptance, authors grant J-HyTEL and its publishing legal entity, Sagamedia Teknologi Nusantara, a non-exclusive right of first publication and the continuing publication rights described in the journal's Copyright & License Policy.
Attribution Requirements
Users must follow the license identified on the article page and provide sufficient information to identify the work, its creators, its original publication, and the applicable Creative Commons license.
Author Information
Name the original author or authors of the article.
Article Title
State the full title of the reused or adapted work.
Publication Source
Identify J-HyTEL as the original publication venue.
Bibliographic Details
Include the publication year and, when assigned, the volume, issue, page range, or article identifier. Before issue assignment, cite the article as Online First using its DOI or stable article URL.
Persistent Link
Provide the Digital Object Identifier or stable article URL.
Applicable License & Changes
Link to the Creative Commons license stated on the article page and indicate whether the original material was modified. Adaptations of articles licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 must also comply with its ShareAlike condition.
