J-HyTEL is pleased to introduce Track My Submission, a private author portal designed to provide a clearer view of each manuscript’s progress through the editorial and publication workflow.

The portal presents the current stage of a submission and may display the following journey:

Submission received
Editorial screening
Peer review
Author revision
Accepted
Copyediting
Production
Published

Authors can also view the next action required, access the corresponding OJS workflow record, and download official documents when they have been issued, including Letters of Acceptance, invoices, payment receipts, and author certificates.

How to use Track My Submission

Sign in using the OJS account connected to the manuscript.
Open the Track My Submission page.
Select the manuscript you wish to review.
Check its current stage, completed stages, upcoming stages, and any required author action.
Use the linked OJS workflow page to upload revisions, respond to discussions, or complete production-related tasks.

Who can access the portal?

The portal is private. A submission is visible only to a signed-in user whose OJS account is connected to that manuscript as an author participant. This normally includes the submitting or corresponding author and any co-author who has been granted author access in OJS.

Reviewers cannot use this portal to view an author’s tracking record, and authors cannot view submissions belonging to other users.

If a manuscript does not appear, authors should confirm that they are using the correct OJS account. When requesting assistance, please provide the manuscript title and Submission ID through the official contact page.

Displayed processing periods are indicative workflow targets and do not constitute a guaranteed editorial decision date. Actual processing time may vary according to manuscript complexity, reviewer availability, revision requirements, and additional editorial checks.

J-HyTEL is pleased to introduce its new Official Documents Portal, a unified public service for verifying academic and administrative documents issued by the journal.

The portal can be used to verify:

Letters of Acceptance (LoA)
Article Processing Charge invoices
Payment receipts
Author and publication certificates
Reviewer certificates
Editorial certificates

Each registered document contains a unique document number, verification record, and QR code. Where permitted, the verified PDF can also be accessed directly from the portal.

How to verify a document

Open the J-HyTEL Public Verification Portal.
Enter the complete document or certificate number printed on the PDF.
Alternatively, scan the QR code displayed on the document.
Confirm that the recipient, article title, document type, status, and other metadata match the PDF.

No login is required to use the public verification service.

A document should be regarded as authentic only when the portal returns a matching and valid record. Documents marked as revoked, void, superseded, or not found should not be accepted as valid J-HyTEL documents.

Authors and recipients are encouraged to provide the verification link or QR code when submitting J-HyTEL documents to institutions, employers, funders, or other third parties.

A New Milestone in Editorial Quality, Publication Integrity, and Scholarly Development

With profound gratitude, the Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL) is pleased to announce that it has officially achieved SINTA 4 accreditation.

The accreditation was established under Decree No. 862/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026 concerning the results of the new scientific journal accreditation process for Period 3 of 2025.

This recognition represents an important milestone in J-HyTEL’s continuing development as an open-access scholarly journal committed to editorial quality, academic integrity, transparent governance, and the responsible dissemination of research.

The attainment of SINTA 4 accreditation reflects the journal’s sustained efforts to strengthen:

the quality of editorial assessment and peer review;
publication ethics and research-integrity policies;
article quality and metadata completeness;
transparent and accountable journal governance;
website accessibility, navigation, and user experience;
digital preservation and continuity of the scholarly record;
collaboration among editors, reviewers, authors, and institutional partners.

Starting from 2025, on Vol. 3 No. 1, the use or non-use of AI tools must be stated in the article.

Use of AI in Scientific Writing

The Journal of Hypermedia & Technology-Enhanced Learning (J-HyTEL) is dedicated to upholding transparency and maintaining the highest ethical standards in the publication process. In line with this commitment, we have introduced a policy regarding the use of generative AI (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies in scientific writing.

This policy ensures that all manuscripts submitted to J-HyTEL meet rigorous academic integrity standards while also acknowledging the potential of AI tools to enhance research and writing. We strongly encourage authors to review and familiarize themselves with this policy, which can be found in the Publication Ethics section.

Key Points of the Policy:

Permitted Use of AI in Scientific Writing
Authors may use AI tools to enhance the readability, language, and structure of their manuscripts. However, these tools must always be used under human supervision and cannot replace essential authoring tasks. AI should be used to support the writing process but not to write substantial portions of the manuscript autonomously.
Disclosure Requirements
Any use of AI tools during the writing process must be explicitly disclosed. Authors must provide a clear explanation of how AI was applied, including examples of specific sections or elements of the manuscript that were assisted by AI tools. Tools such as ChatGPT must be mentioned, specifying their role and any relevant details (e.g., the version and manufacturer of the AI tool).
Prohibited Use of AI for Image Creation or Alteration
The use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools to create, alter, or enhance images in submitted manuscripts is strictly prohibited unless such tools are part of the research design or methodology (e.g., AI-assisted imaging approaches in biomedical research). In these cases, the use of AI must be fully described in the Methods section, including how AI was applied to the creation or alteration of images, the specific AI tool(s) used, the version and manufacturer, and any relevant parameters. The authors may also be required to submit pre-AI-adjusted versions or raw images used in creating the final image.
Image Forensics
Submitted manuscripts may be subject to image forensics tools or specialized software to detect any irregularities or suspected manipulations of images. Authors should ensure that all images submitted accurately represent the research data.
Prohibited Use of AI in the Production of Artwork
Generative AI tools should not be used to create artwork such as book covers, commissioned content, or graphical abstracts. All artwork must be created by the authors themselves or be legally sourced from third-party providers.
AI in Peer Review Process
Reviewers are not permitted to use generative AI or AI-assisted tools to evaluate manuscripts or draft reviews. All assessments and feedback must be based on the reviewer’s own expertise and judgment to ensure the integrity and originality of the peer review process (Peer Review Policy).

We encourage all authors and reviewers to adhere to these guidelines to ensure the integrity of their work and uphold the transparency of the academic publishing process.

Please note that this policy is also included in the latest submission template and will be effective starting from Vol. 3, No. 1 (2025) and onwards.
